Morris Mills is an artist who defies the artificial boundaries between musical genres, including secular and sacred, like speed bumps.

He knows that the boundaries are there but he does not allow them to deter him. Born in Greenville, Texas and raised in Chicago.

These two cities are musical hotbeds where genres like Country,

Blues, Funk, Soul, Jazz and Latin music come together to form

a musical personality that is rebellious and reverent,

providing the impetus for his constant pursuit of his own personal music truth.

Morris L Mills, Morris is the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Strawberry Hill Records (SHR),

an independent record label that offers products outside of the status quo. He is also a

producer, composer, arranger and performer. Morris is a self-taught musician that has been

serving the independent music and entertainment arena for over 36 years.

Morris attended Triton college in Melrose Park, IL. and Jackson State University in MS., focusing

in the disciplines of music and international business, respectively. Morris is a true

entrepreneur in every sense.

In 2003, Morris partnered with William Pierce III to produce and co-write several independent

films, ‘My Family BBQ’ parts I and II, ‘Wedding Bells’ starring renowned actors Clifton Davis of

‘That’s My Momma’ and BerNadette Stanis of ‘Good Times’. In 2004, Morris wrote his first

independent film, ‘Love & Coffee’. He also produced the soundtrack that garnered four hit

singles. One of those hits, the music video ‘Hello’, captured the attention of the internationally

syndicated radio personality Michael Baisden of the ‘Michael Baisden Show’ causing it to go

viral.

In 2010, Morris formed the company ‘43hrz Productions’ with Grammy artist Max-a-Million and

Terry ‘Trademark’ Martin. In 2012 they released “Beautified” through Interscope

Records/Digital Distribution Records. In 2012, Morris attended the Grammys where he met

many music executives. This inspired him to move to Los Angeles where he networked his way

into the music and film industries. Morris took what he learned in Chicago and applied that

knowledge in the Los Angeles entertainment arenas. He began producing his own records and

live events, opening for Quest Love at the LA Telegram Ball Room and playing at legendary Los

Angeles venues such as The Whisky a Gogo and The Mint.

Morris has produced six albums and videos under the Strawberry Hill Records’ umbrella from

2006 until now.

Over the course of six studio albums released since 2005, the pursuit of the ultimate

personal, musical, spiritual and political truths led Morris to evolve artistically. His first

project “Love and Coffee” was an R&B record that incorporated elements of funk and

hints of rock guitar that he would embrace on later albums, like 2019’s ‘The Dawn’ and

2020’s ‘The Revival’, a project released during the pandemic.
